About
It was the very first item that made it into her little bag. In the last month of pregnancy, this special little blankie and I waited for Baby Girl. I fell in love with its soft warmth and comforting embrace in the moments of solace as a single-mom-even-before-the-baby-was-born. So it was only natural that Baby Girl’s hospital bag be filled with the blankie first, then followed by the teeny, little items, washed delicately, folded carefully, and packed with so much hope and love…
My name is Analea De La Fuente. And this project is inspired by our story.
Our greatest desire is to get a blankie of love into the hands of children that have experienced some sort of trauma in their young lives, whether illness, abuse, or other potentially traumatic event.
I believe in the power of intention. I believe in the power of a blessing. But most importantly, I believe in the power of love. As I remind Baby Girl, Love fixes everything. And so, it is with great love, the best of intentions, and a blessing for the child that receives it, that we hand-make and send out each one.
So, what exactly do the children get? Well, it’s a soft, soft blanket, obviously. It’s a replica of baby girl’s blankie, so these kids are getting the “real” thing! It’s a neutral cream color, and it washes incredibly well. You know, the combination that makes a blanket look a little “gray” with love over time, and softer with each wash. There’s a sweet story, a story of the cycle of love, woven into the corner. I will post pictures soon, but if you’d like a preview of the story itself, please fill in your info below and we’ll happily send you a digital copy! We’ll also send you updates as blankies get delivered this winter and beyond.
Thank you for helping make our dreams come true…
